This young athlete maintains considerable online following
The young golfer can count on multiple high-profile cheerleaders when she begins her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, possesses multiple courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events in 2024 and maintains the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He is the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.
"And he's a more impressive person. He suggested me to go out there, relax, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials mentioned that her participation brings the sport to wider groups, especially with the next generation.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
